Hood mod. - Vector-BFC - 10-16-2020

I'd like your opinions. I want to be able to access the oil dip stick without removing the hood. I am thinking of installing these vents and making the left one removable.

Just my opinion, but I wouldn't do it. I don't think I would like the look.
I haven't had a modern car that burned any oil between oil changes (3000 or 5000 miles) unless it had high mileage.  I've been under the hood on my 2018 VV many times for various reasons, and check the oil every time I have the hood off, including changing the oil twice.  I've never seen a change in the oil level.  Changed oil at 4000 miles (first year), then 6500 miles (second year).
You probably know this, but others may not, removing the hood isn't as onerous as it sounds.  Biggest deal is to use a centering tool (skinny screwdriver or ice pick) to make sure the screw clip, which moves around, is centered with the screw hole in the hood when reinstalling, so the screw will easily engage.  I use a power drill with a straight 4mm (5/32") hex wrench to remove and reapply the screws.  Set the drill to have very little torque if you plan to tighten all the way with the drill.  The hood is very light weight and easily lifted off.  That said, removing the hood while on the road would be a pain.

I had it on a off a few times. Easy on sometimes, other times takes a while. Just a really poor design from the start, hence the hood on the Carmel opening.
