This seems to be equivalent to the Bluetooth controller found on the Vanderhalls.

My point of contention with this and similar devices to control audio functions, is
that they changed a fundamental (and well established) user interface between
us humans and our machines. In this case, controlling the volume of an audio
device.

For many years, we developed the habit of TURNING A KNOB for volume control.
Simple. This has come to be a universal standard. This controller violates that, hence
the ensuing confusion. We generally switch to a different track via pressing a separate
button, not the volume dial. Again, this violates that simple interaction.

In essence, it attempts to pile too many functions on a single knob. Maybe there's a
way to accomplish that in a better way than what they devised so far. As it is, I hate
the one Vanderhall comes with and will soon change that. After all, my attention
should be on the road and enjoying the drive. This device frustrates that experience.

This is the one I replaced mine with (see pictures).  Much easier to use.  Bought it on Amazon.  Only negative to this one is the red/blue light which tells you if it's on or off, is very tiny and hard to see.  I had to modify a hole in the dash to install it.  Not difficult.

This device accomplish all that (volume, and other functions) it's simple and
unobtrusive. Plus it has in line/ aux inputs and Bluetooth connection to boot.
