Adding a bump shifter
#1

New 2021 Venice owner. Is adding a bump shifter and option on my new Venice? And to be honest, what is the purpose of the bump shifter. Besides adding another feature to the driving experience? Can it still be driven in auto mode?

In my opinion a bump shifter is a waste of money. There are a couple odd shift points but the transmission is fine as is.

Thanks for the input. I agree with you that the trans is fine. I am not out there anymore driving fast. The bump shifter is just a nostalgic add on. Plus I hate to see a blank plate there.

If you have odd or sluggish shift points in the transmission (which is due to the conservative "tune" that comes from the factory), you can go with a BNR tune which not only increases the horsepower, but redefines the shift points of the transmission so it's not trying to shift into a higher gear and bogging down.  It completely changes the response of the vehicle.
