The brand I purchased, was beefy and it fit perfectly into the knurled cap. Your new replacement will fail, as per service guy at chevy dealer
Warmed up little hot glue and it seated perfectly.
They may be killing the cap by using 80git to scratch it up so it holds. But the rattling vibration kills the internals
