Not long after I purchased my 2018 VV, in late 2018, I contacted the factory about this.  Here is the reply I received from Daniel Boyer (Factory Man):

"Any locksmith that has laser cutting capacity can duplicate the key if they have GM chipped blanks.  After the key is cut, start the vehicle with one of your programmed keys, turn it off, then immediately start it with your new cut key and it will program it.  Wait 25 seconds and test it."

I haven't tried this.  If you do, please post here and say if it worked.
