What upsets me is the lack of dealer knowledge and the warranty repair process.
I feel that the earlier models 2017-2019, 1.4L motor, were better made.
I just had a track day with many of the engineers from Polaris. They manufacture the entire drive train and motor for the slingshot and have total control over the quality, and they know what they are doing. That might be an option for you.
I personally don't care for the looks and overall design of the slingshot, and is why I went with VH. I also never though a motorcycle/ATV dealership could handle the repairs and always intended to fix it my self.
you make a good observation about the GM lineage. I saw the comment earlier on another thread or u-tube that one (larger?) shop had hired a GM tech just to address the VH service/ repairs. Said GM sourced needs were were also more efficiently procured. I asked my independent mechanic if he would wrench the VH and he was game to do so but stopped by the necessity for a special lift; unwilling to crawl around under ramps; I guess too much trouble, with plenty of auto work coming in.
