No sure about how to check this but here is a possibility. I expect that if you jacked up the front, disconnected the wire to the WRS and attached a voltmeter, you would see a pulsed voltage as you rotated the wheel. Likely only 1 side would be bad. If you see the voltage on one side but not the other, bad WRS might be the culprit. HTH and good luck!
