Not to say VH assembly doesn't have issues (loose bolts, broken welds)  but the mechanical things you listed are GM parts.
What upsets me is the lack of dealer knowledge and the warranty repair process.

I feel that the earlier models 2017-2019, 1.4L motor,  were better made.

I just had a track day with many of the engineers from Polaris. They manufacture the entire drive train and motor for the slingshot and have total control over the quality, and they know what they are doing. That might be an option for you.

I personally don't care for the looks and overall design of the slingshot, and is why I went with VH. I also never though a motorcycle/ATV dealership could handle the repairs and always intended to fix it my self.

I agree that maybe the earlier model years might be better made. Mine is 2018, and I have had just a few little issues. I haven't had to deal with any dealers or the main company. I do feel quality should be better, for the price of this "toy", but expected to do most repairs myself. ( no close by dealers). No warranty that I know of,,,,,I bought used, with 3k on it. It is a fun vehicle, and plan to keep it, until I can't get in and out of it.
