Cowl heat sheild
#1

I have a 2021 Venice and the heat shield that is glued to the underside of the cowl keeps falling off.  I was thinking of using spray glue to glue it back on again. It has glue on it but it has fallen off twice. Anybody else have this problem?

Mine has detached 3 times. I used the strongest spray on glue available and it still comes off. Anyone know of a stronger glue?

So I tried a contact cement that is used to glue rubber pipe insulation toghter. It is super strong and flexible. It is called K-Flex 320 contact adhesive from Amazon and it is holding very well. First I removed the glue on the heat shield wearing gloves and using an acetone soaked rag. You you can buy acetone solvent in your local paint department. It is kind of a messy and smelly outside job. Do not get acetone anywhere near your Vanderhall it will disolve the paint and plastic instantly. Then I painted the heat shield and cowl with the glue and let it tack for a couple minutes. I used a cheap one in paint brush to apply the glue. Then I carefully rolled the heat shield on to the glue. Good luck.

I used aluminum tape for heating it seems to work so far.

Cut new piece of space pak. Double insulated and ran flexible metal duct tape. Amazon has  Few thousand miles still holding. Used 3m ultra strong headliner spray glue after light scuff with sand paper so glue can grab, and alcohol cleaning. Made the entire hood more ridged  and quiets everything down. Obviously not the blow off valve!
