Defective Driveshafts
#1

When I spoke to the manager in Provo he did provide one piece of information. As of today VH driveshafts will be from a new supplier. That means VH is admitting our driveshafts are defective. My left side failed for the second time and my VH is in the shop (again). I have requested that VH replace both driveshafts with the newer model. VH knowing the shafts are defective would be subject to liability should one fail and cause an accident.

Other than telling me that one piece of information, the Provo guy was completely unhelpful and arrogant.

UPDATE

V-Hall is sending 2 of the new driveshafts so both sides will be repaired. Another 7-10 days with no ride. I hope this is the last repair.

Hello Vector! One of the reasons I was concern with the unequal shafts on the 2020 models as I mentioned previously. if the longer unit lets go the VH is very light in mass and might have a tendency to shift aggressively due to its 3 wheel design.

That seems to have happened to an owner in Texas. The VH spun and hit the center-divider when the left side failed. I rather sure that is what happened but someone also mention a transmission failure. All I know for sure is VH knows the driveshafts are defective or they would not have contracted with a new supplier. Anyone who asked for replacement with the new units should be approved.

Got my VH back this morning. Both drive shafts replaced. The only difference are the boots, they are thicker and have the correct amount of grease. I hope this means I'll be riding trouble free finally.

Thumbs Up

Well, guys and gals, good luck to you all in your future carting.  I sincerely hope That VH gets the shaft, boot, and the wheel bearing issues straightened out.

My Speedster took 5 weeks to get the replace /repair of the wheel bearing assembly.

I asked the shop if they would like to purchase it for resale.  They were eager to do so ( other than bearing problem it was better than new).

I had put a tune in it and an additional polycarbonate grill
Over the oil cooler to stop fin damage from insects and road debris, tightened all fasteners and put a ceramic shine on it.

I decided that I didn’t want to deal with any more quality problems and delays in fixing from Utah and besides..... my years warranty was just now up.

Great fun and wicked roll-on to surprise many muscle and sporty cars. I would have kept it without the issues and fear of downtime/ future failures.

Going to be four wheeling from now on!

Cheers,

I support your decision and hope I need not make the same because this VH is so much fun, when it runs.

I asked my dealer about the new axels, he says Vanderhall will not get back to him after 2 VMs. I think I would’ve had more fun actually burning 30k instead of getting the blackjack...

I mentioned to Provo that my brother is a business attorney, my replacement driveshafts arrived in 3 days.

Thanks for the information vector, do you happen to have a parts number that I can give to my dealer for reference?
