At Facebook Vanderhall Owner's Forum, Open Roads noted knob has loctite. Suggested strap wrench  or padded vice grip/channel lock and a bit of muscle. Use blue loctitie to resecure.

Heat is the easy answer,  use a propane torch to heat the shaft this in turn releases the locktite.
