cracked rear fender
#8

(10-11-2019, 07:40 PM)coolwhip Wrote:  As to the cracked rear fender:  Everyone says the body parts, including fenders, are ABS - the same as house drain plumbing pipe.  I would think the black pipe ABS glue would be the best to use if it won't show.  If you could glue a piece of ABS to the underside that would reinforce the area.
This is exactly what I did. I cut some strips of ABS and used plastic pipe glue (actually just a solvent; methyl ethyl ketone should be a major component for use on ABS) to fuse the strips to the underside of the fender. The crack was hard to see unless the fender was flexed a bit and now doesn't show at all when I flex the fender. Picture with strips clamped to fender attached.
