Mine has detached 3 times. I used the strongest spray on glue available and it still comes off. Anyone know of a stronger glue?
So I tried a contact cement that is used to glue rubber pipe insulation toghter. It is super strong and flexible. It is called K-Flex 320 contact adhesive from Amazon and it is holding very well. First I removed the glue on the heat shield wearing gloves and using an acetone soaked rag. You you can buy acetone solvent in your local paint department. It is kind of a messy and smelly outside job. Do not get acetone anywhere near your Vanderhall it will disolve the paint and plastic instantly. Then I painted the heat shield and cowl with the glue and let it tack for a couple minutes. I used a cheap one in paint brush to apply the glue. Then I carefully rolled the heat shield on to the glue. Good luck.

I used aluminum tape for heating it seems to work so far.
